Obituary

Prince Abayomi Olatunji Olatunde Obadofin was born in Kwara State on 1st March 1960 to the family of Late Pa Franklin Olatunde Obadofin and Late Madam Adepeju Adejumo both natives of Akunnu Akoko in Ondo State.

He attended All Saints' Anglican Primary School, Erinle, Kwara State from 1968 – 1977 and Offa Grammar School, Offa in Kwara State from 1973 to 1977. He later gained admission to the Nigeria College of Education (NCE), now Osun State College of Education, Ila Orangun in Osun State from 1981 - 1984where he obtained his Nigeria Certificate of Education 1981 – 1984.

He stated his Administrative and Personnel Career immediately after graduating from NCE Ila Orangun. He worked with former National Electric Power Authority (NEPA) and later moved to National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) where he worked diligently and put in 22 years (1992 – 2014) of service to the Nation.

It is pertinent to note that he was part of the pioneer staff of NYSC Osun State when the permanent NYSC Camp in Ede was established. He also worked in the Northern Division of NYSC Scheme at the hit of Borko Haram Insurgence in the Northern part of the country. He was later transferred to Ilorin, Kwara State where he voluntarily retired from the scheme on 1st January 2014 having rose to the post of Chief Executive Officer Grade Level 14.

Upon his voluntary retirement in 2014, just like any other good family man that wants the best life for his family, he decided to relocate with his wife and children to the United States of America where he lived until his demise on Wednesday 20th December 2023.

He obtained NIPSM Certificate in 1997 and advanced Diploma in Purchasing and Supply Management 1999. Prince Abayomi Olatunde Obadofin was well known for his kindness, humility and generosity. It was his generosity towards his friends when he was alive that earned him the nickname "Agboworin". I.e A man that doesn't go out without money. These are the attributes that endeared him to majority of his friends when he was alive.

He was fondly referred to as "brother Agba" or Patriarch of Pa Francklin Olatunde Obadofin children by family friends. A role he played so well until his demise always keeping in touch with his siblings.

His contemporary includes Taiwo Dada, Late Wale Fayemi, Late Kayode Adewoye, Abiodun (Bros Abbey), tuned Adigun, Akin Balogun, Dayo Alao, Femi Alao, Ayofe, Tony Momoh, Late Tunde Togun,

Mr Abayomi Olatunde Obadofin was a highly disciplined and God-fearing man.

He is survived by his loving and caring wife, Abiola, his children, sister, Nike, Brothers, Segun and Gbenga, lots of nephew, nieces, cousins and in-laws. May God grant him eternal rest.
