Abwun Lee Brown, Sr., 37, of KCMO passed away at the home on December 6, 2016. He was born July 13, 1979 to Josephine Marie Brown in Paola, Kansas. Abwun graduated from high school in Houston, Mississippi and obtained his Associate's degree from the University of Missouri - Kansas City. He worked diligently for Truman Medical Center as a certified medical technician while actively pursuing his Bachelor's of Science with bio-medical emphasis. Abwun thoroughly savored moments spent with his family. He frequently volunteered at the schools of both his sons, shared summer times with his daughter, coached for the YMCA soccer team and offered his assistance wherever it was invited. In addition to being family-oriented, Abwun shared a personal relationship with the Lord. Among these highlights of Abwun's life, he enjoyed listening to music and was a sports enthusiast who readily cheered on the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals and the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Welcoming Abwun home are his mother, Josephine M. Brown; grandfather, Lad Brown; grandmother, Inetha Mae Brown; uncles, Charlie Calvin Brown, Sr., Las Franklin Brown, Jr. and Iron Louis Brown; aunts, Doris Ann Denton and Joyce Ann Denton. Abwun leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Indira Brown; daughter, Abreanna Brown; sons, Abwun Lee Brown, JR. and Alejandro Liam Brown; brother, Robert Louis Brown; and a host of special nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 13, 1:00 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Private disposition. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the chapel.
