Obituary

Adina D. Franks, 46, OPKS, passed away on May 26, 2017. She was born September 2, 1970 in Kansas City, Missouri, to Lonnadene Stillwell and Albert Acklin. She was preceded in death by Beulah 'Gaga' Stillwell-Nelson (Grandmother), Charles Nelson (Grandfather), Lonnie Stillwell (Grandfather), Albert Acklin (Father), Richard Franks, Jr. (Husband), Mary 'Granny' Dolman (Great-Grandmother), Lonvis Stillwell (Uncle), Ronvis Stillwell (Uncle), Arthur Watkins (Great-Uncle), Nadine Watkins (Great-Aunt), Margaret Foster (Great-Aunt), Arlene Caldwell (Great-Aunt) and a host of other grandparents, uncles and aunts. Adina graduated and received her high school diploma from East High School in Kansas City, Missouri. She also received her Associate's degree from Penn Valley Community College. She was employed by FP&C Consultants as an Accountant and was excited with the opportunity to relocate to Arizona to assist with opening a new branch in the upcoming months. Adina was a loving mother, daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend. Her soul was as pure as gold, with an aura to match. She enjoyed fine dining, traveling and being with family and friends. Over the past year, she had rededicated herself to Christ, attending church and bible study on a weekly basis. She believed that in order to receive her blessings, she must first bless others, so she focused on renewing her relationship with her mother and helping her children. Giving birth to her first child at age 17 and second child at age 25, the majority of her adult life was devoted to raising her two sons, sacrificing her own dreams in the process. She was very involved in her boys lives and did her best to ensure they became great men. Recently becoming an 'empty-nester,' she began pursuing all the dreams she had put on hold including relocating to a new state, furthering her education, becoming physically fit, traveling the world and living life to the fullest. Adina will leave a huge vacancy in the hearts of many. She is loved and eternally cherished. She will live on through Maurice Dydell III (Son), Richard Franks III (Son), Lonnadene Stillwell (Mother), Brian Stillwell (Uncle), Anthony Stillwell (Uncle), Marla Bonwell (Cousin), Qwond Casey (Friend), Sherita Dixon (Friend), Balinda Hueigh (Friend), Tonya Brooks (Friend), Paula Mimms (Friend) and countless other family members and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 3, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
