Albert "Bert" Dean
Potter
Apr 14, 1957 — Apr 30, 2024
Albert (Bert) Dean Potter was born on April 14, 1957, in Sterling, Colorado, to Robert Wayne Potter Sr. and Clara Charlotte (Uhlin) Potter. He passed away on April 30, 2024, at Research Medical Center, surrounded by his loving wife Louise and family.
Bert was born in Northeastern Colorado and lived in many small towns in the area, including Sterling, Merino, Akron, Yuma and Peetz, before moving to Kansas City in 1963 with his family. Bert moved to Belton, Missouri in the early 1970s, where he became a lifelong resident.
Bert worked as a devoted employee at Labconco Corporation, a laboratory equipment supplier, from 1977 until his passing. Bert loved his job, and during his time at Labconco, he made many contributions to the company along with making lifetime friends.
Bert was a huge Tate Stevens fan, and he and his wife were both longtime friends with Tate Stevens and also worked as administrators for the fan club. We will all be blessed to listen to much of Tate Stevens' music at Bert's Celebration of Life.
Bert came to know the Lord later in life. During his last few weeks, he often said, "This is between me and God," and would point up to the heavens.
Bert is preceded in death by his father, Robert Wayne Potter Sr., his mother, Clara Charlotte Potter, and two brothers, Wayne Edward Potter and Robert Wayne Potter Jr.
Bert leaves behind his wife, Louise Potter, his son, Michael Potter, his siblings Patricia Garrett, Melvina Milford, Elayne Allison, Susan Baxley, John Potter, and Jerry Potter, sister-in-laws Carolyn Potter, Loretta Meisenheimer, brother-in-laws Dennis Dukes, Eugene Meisenheimer, and Edward Meisenheimer, and many nephews and nieces, cousins, as well as longtime friends and coworkers who he loved dearly.
Bert's Celebration of Life will be held at Marcom-Harvey Funeral Care, 9100 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO, on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 3 pm.
Outdoor potted plants can be sent to the funeral home, or in lieu of plants, please send donations in Albert's (Bert's) name to Sarah Canon Cancer Center at Research Medical Center, 2316 E Meyer Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64132.
