Albert loved his sisters very much and was extremely overprotective of them. They were very close and had a tight bond. Albert had a genuine love for music. He started playing the tuba in junior high school and played all through high school, earning a spot as the Drill Master of the band his senior year. Albert had a job as well and actually became an auto mechanic before he even finished high school. He was self-taught and everything he touched he mastered. When he got bored he moved on to the next best thing which was his music, and started making CDs and became a DJ in the late 90s. DJ Al would DJ weddings, family reunions and receptions. After being a Master Mechanic for many years, he decided to become an over the road truck driver. He traveled across the country driving, working, and visiting family until his health began to fail.

He received his education in the KCMO and Independence School Districts, graduating in 1985 from Van Horn High School. He took up Automechanics at the Vocational Technology Center his senior year and completed it with high honors. He furthered his education at ITT Technical Institute receiving certifications in Automotive Technology February 26, 1988; Heating, Cooling, Engine Repair 1990; Inspector Mechanic Permit, August 29, 1995; and Fort Scott Community College Truck Driving School, February 24, 2006. Albert always kept a job or two; he was multitalented.
