Albert Wilburn, 75, KCMO, passed away on March 17, 2017 at Truman Medical Center. He was born July 29, 1941 in Earle, Arkansas, the youngest of eleven children to the union of John Henry Wilburn and Mary Willie Woods. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, three sisters, and two sons. 'Al', as he was affectionately known, moved to Kansas City in 1962 and began his career at KCATA as a service technician in 1963. He then furthered his education by receiving his certification in Heating and Cooling. After forty years of service, he retired in 2003. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of thirty-seven years, Clara Mae Wilburn; five children, Sheryl Jordan (Willie), Kenneth Wilburn, Ebony Nelson (Charles), Gary Hopkins, and Clarissa LaPorté; six siblings, Aceal Kennard, Dan Wilburn (Nona), Sumancie Harrison, Lonzella Davis, Lovie House, and Howard Wilburn (Bertha); dear friend, Robert Mills; seventeen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 25, 1:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Interment Blue Ridge Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
