Alice Thomas, "Baby Dear" was born on August 5, 1954, in Tchula, MS.
She was the second child born to Betty Mae Mayze. At the age of 5 she was adopted by Mckinley and Dollie Green. The family moved to Kansas City, MO.
Growing up, Alice "Baby Dear" as she was often called, was shy at times but later became an outgoing, funny, loving, and kind person. She loved to dress up and go out dancing and to hang out with family and friends.
When she was 16 years old, she met Larry Thomas, (LT). After graduating from East High School in 1971, Alice and Larry were married. They had 3 daughters and 2 sons. Later, Alice met the love of her life, Michael Evans in 1983. To this union they had a son born in 1984. In 1986 Alice attended pharmacy school. Both Larry Thomas and Michael Evans preceded her in death.
Alice departed this life on July 11, 2022.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three loving daughters, Carmen Maize, Kelly Smith (Jeffery), and Felicia Maize (Memphis Shannon); two loving sons, Nicholas Maize, and Ramond Thomas; seven sisters, Joaie Maize of Flora, MS, Eloise White (Clarence), of Jackson, MS, (deceased), Velma Nelson, (Edward) of Flora, MS, Wilma Boyd (Samuel) of Jackson, MS, Bertha Gross (James) of Flora, MS, Vanessa Berry, Jackson, MS, Mary Williams (Damon) of Clinton, MS; two brothers, JW Valentine of Flora, MS, Robert Valentine of Flora, MS, and a special cousin, Slyvester Harden, "SLY". He was more like her brother. They did everything together growing up and were best friends. Alice also leaves behind 31 grandkids and 31-great-grandkids, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death was her biological mom, Betty Mae Mayze, her adoptive parents, McKinley and Dollie Green, son, Larry Maize, Grandson Kenneth Washington Jr., granddaughter, Tasha Howard, Husband, Michael Evans, her paternal grandmother, Mary Mayze, her sister, Eloise White, her favorite aunt, Josephine Harden, her brother Sameul, her best friend, Willa Joe, and other family members that were close to her.
