Alice Marie Washington, 80, of KCMO, passed away at Blue River Care Center on December 8, 2016. She was born July 15, 1936 in Carthage, Texas, the only daughter to the union of the late Jessie Mae Davis and Thomas Jackson. Her brother, Roy Jackson and step-father, Lyle C. Davis, Sr. also preceded her in death. Alice was educated in the public schools of Kansas City, Missouri. In 2001, she retired from KU Medical Center after years of dedicated service. Alice enjoyed fishing, playing cards and putting jigsaw puzzles together. She loved cooking for her family, of which she was a proud grandmother to. She leaves to cherish her memory: seven children, Robert Jr., (Beverly), Rowena, Romal 'Tim', Deborah, Phyllis, Dirk and Van; her brother, Lyle C. Davis, Jr.; grandchildren, Shila Hill (Dennis), Shelley Washington, Anita Watson (Marlon), Michelle Bradford (Norman), Marilyn Washington, Asha Mosley, Myisha Pitts (O'zier), Tylan Jones, George Lee, Reifel Minor, Tanya Washington, Michael Mosley II, Vanessa Washington, Candyce Washington and Breanna Washington; a host of siblings in Texas, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Friday, December 16, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel.
