Allene W. Blair, 83, was born on November 28, 1935 to the union of Eddie Lee Paige and Willie Williams in Anadarko, Oklahoma and then the family later moved to Kansas City, Missouri. Her parents; brothers Charles Williams, Lee Williams, Willard Williams, Marvin Williams, Monroe Williams and Ronnie Williams; one sister Gladys Hardin all preceded her in death.
Allene accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Greater Corinthian Church of the Christ under of the Pastorate of Rev. Raymond Davis, Jr. where she served as a Choir Director, Sunday School Teacher, volunteer in the Agape Soup Kitchen and wherever else she was needed within the church.
Allene graduated from Lincoln High School. She loved to sing and started sing in the school choir and later on became a member of her family singing group the Harmonettes. She later joined the Heirs of Salvation in 1980 with some of her closest and best friends for over twenty plus years.
Allene was married to Louis Blair, to this union no children were born.
Allene's employment history began at Macy's where she was a lead cook, and from this her passion for cooking began starting with weddings to funerals and bake sales. She did it and loved what she did. She was also a Field Social Worker for the CETA Program and from there her love for children started and she became a personal Nanny for many families. In her later years she began working at Dears Little School House in 1985. Allene took care of a lot of children in her lifetime and was a God Mother to many.
Allene departed this earthly life on Saturday, July 13, 2019. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
To cherish her blessed memories she leaves three sons, Robert Williams (Felicia) and Marcus Williams (Patty) of Independence, MO, Kevin Blair (Sonya) and one daughter, Vickie Younes (Myron) both of Kansas City, MO; three sisters, Christine Roscoe, Shirley Briscoe and Lelia Williams; nine grandchildren, Santino Williams, Marcus Williams, Jr., DeMarco Williams, Keosha Moore (Steven), Reauchaan Williams, Sari Williams, LaTisha Miller, Diamond Jackson (Cortez) and Carlos Walker; seven great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren; two God Sons, Pastor Donald Johnson and Timothy Short; special extended family, Rick and Annie Zander, Big Moma, Genetter Bradley, the Wright family and the Heirs of Salvation along with many other family and friends not mentioned nor forgotten.
Funeral services Saturday, July 20, 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
