Ms. Alma Brooks was born January 29th 1938, in Nacotish, Louisiana to Mr. Willis Hall Sr, and Mrs. Cassie Bell-Hall. Alma was educated in the public school district of Shreveport, Louisiana, and accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. A few years later, Alma was married, and her husband and their two sons moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she was blessed with 4 more children. Her husband then preceded her in death.
In this new life in Kansas City, Missouri, Alma was employed by Research Medical Center where she remained until her retirement in 2003. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri under the leadership of Reverend Bennie Young. Alma was a pillar of the church and a faithful member for over 35 years.
Alma loved to travel with her children, family, and friends. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and the many children who called her mom, aunt, or grandma. Alma's house was always open to everyone. She enjoyed gospel music, the blues and playing dominoes. She also loved to go visit family and friends in Louisiana and spending quality time there with her sisters and brothers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons Eddie C. Brooks and Johnny B. Wayne, one grandson Phillip T. Turner, Jr., five sisters: Ollie Hall, Bettye Hall, Dollie D. Johnson, Letha Mae Hall, and Lula Lee Hall.
She leaves to cherish her memories a life mate: Mr. Norman Dudley, her children: LeOtis T. Brooks, Jr. (LaTonya), Patricia A. Walker-Williams (Wisconsin), Juliet R. Walker, Stephanie D. Walker, and Akil Jamal Mustafa (Latricia). Two Brothers: Willis Hall, Jr., and Lucas Hall of Louisiana, three sisters: Roberta Hall of California, Patricia Hull, Bossier City, LA; and Olla Mae Saxon, Benton, LA. She also leaves behind a legacy of grandchildren: Thomas O. D. Walker (Kimberly), LeOtis D. Carson, Sherita S. Campbell, Shashaunda Walker, Colonie Jenkins (Nathan), LeTreasha L. Brooks, Tahisha B. Walker (Cornell), Shaona Carney (Tracy), Charles Hall Jr., LeOniquia T. Brooks, LaTondra J. Brooks, and LeXaibriar A. Brooks. 17 great grandchildren, 22 great-great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-great grandchildren. A special nephew LeVander Brooks, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Bethlehem Baptist Church. 3034 Montgall Ave., Kansas City, MO. Visitation 9:00 a.m. - 11. Interment Blue Ridge Lawn Cemetery. Services provided by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors.
