Obituary

Almeta Faye (Coleman). Williams, 66, entered into eternal rest on May 3, 2017 at Research Medical Center. Almeta Faye, as she was affectionately known, was born in Menifee, Arkansas on May 23, 1950 to the union of the late Elbert and Arethia (Green) Coleman. Almeta Faye confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church in Menifee, under the pastorate of Dr. Matthew M. Smith. She was known for her beautiful, melodious, God-given singing voice, and her sweet spirit. Almeta Faye was a graduate of East Side High School, formerly Conway County Training School, in Menifee, Class of 68'. She started her journey to becoming a teacher by continuing her education, and in 1972 graduating from Philander Smith College in Little Rock, Arkansas. She then relocated to New Jersey and acquired her practical teacher requirements. Eventually Almeta Faye would come to call Kansas City, Missouri home, where she remained until her passing. She was employed as an elementary education teacher by the Kansas City School District for twenty-nine years. She had a special love for children that was evident not only at school, but in all aspects of her life. She had a special desire to see young people succeed, and to instill self-worth in all those she touched. Upon moving to Kansas City, Almeta Faye united with Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member for many years. It was during this time that she met and married her husband. They later united with True Vine Missionary Baptist Church and then her current home Blessed Beyond Measure Ministries. She faithfully served in several ministries, particularly the choir and as a Sunday school teacher and Sunday school superintendent. She leaves to celebrate her life: her husband,Robert Williams; daughter, Jocelyn D. Allen (Kevin); grandchildren, Kaori, Jordan and Kadance; brothers, Robert Brown, Amos Coleman, Terry Coleman and Jerry Coleman; Godson, Adrian Francis and a host of nephews, nieces, cousin other relatives and friends.
