Obituary

Amiyah Simone Hatten, affectionately known as "Beamer" or "Mya" was born March 23, 2000. She attended Hartman Elementary Pre-School, in the Kansas City, Missouri School District. Amiyah went on to attend Dobbs Elementary in the Hickman Mills School District. Middle School at St. Regis, and three years at O'Hara High School. Amiyah graduated from Ruskin High School in 2018 and went on to attend Park University for two years. She accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. She then became a member of Swope Parkway United Christian Church, where she was actively involved in children's church, Sunday School, and the youth choir. Her outside interests included basketball, where she became an accomplished player, and a model teammate. She was preceded in death by two special cousins, Christopher Paul Jones Jr. (CJ), Charles Goff Jr., and maternal grandmother Inez Hatten. She is survived by her biological mother, Shavonne Hatten; father, Lamont Cousins; step - mother Rhonda Mathis; mother, Wendy Lewis; great-grandmother, Delores Lewis; brother, Kye Hatten; niece Tyrianna Hatten; a special cousin Brea Lewis; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, a loving church family, Pastor and many other relatives and friends.
