Obituary

Andre McCain Ricks, 58, was born September 16, 1957 in Kansas City, Missouri, His parents, Percy and Vivian (Watson) Ricks and a brother, Percy Ricks, Jr. preceded him in death. Andre was educated in the public schools of Kansas City, Missouri. He was employed as a laborer for J.E. Dunn, and as a mail clerk for Docusort and the Kansas City Star Newspaper. Andre was previously married to Linda French in 1991. No children were born to this union, however he adored her daughter Lynda. Andre was high-spirited with a friendly smile. He loved his family and friends. He enjoyed watching sports, listening to good music, playing cards and dominoes. He also had a passion for dogs and was often teased jokingly, being called 'the dog whisperer'. Andre was on dialysis for thirteen years and after courageous battle with kidney disease, he departed this life on April 5, 2016. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory: his son, Antonio Webb, Sr.; three grandchildren, Antonio Webb, Jr., Antonae Webb and Antonio Webb III; two brothers, Marcus Ricks and Gerry White; one sister, Percetta Williams; one uncle, J.B. Ricks of Sheffield, AL; one nephew, Marcus Williams; one niece, Leah Massey (Anthony); and a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be Tuesday, April 19, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on this website.
