Obituary

Our heavenly father summoned his angel on Sunday July 8, 2018 and stopped by Research Hospital to bring his child Mrs. Annie Ruth Parker home.

Annie was born January 30, 1947 to Area L. Johnson Miller and O.D. Parker in Tuskegee, Alabama. Both parents and a brother, Jasper Magruder, Sr. preceded her in death.

During her formative years, Annie's gift from God to be a caregiver became apparent when she received a toy nursing kit. Her tenderness of wiping all the boy's faces and insisting that they all obey, she believed she was their mother.

Annie moved to Pine Bluff, Arkansas for a few years and in 1955, the family moved back to the Kansas City area. She received her formal education and the Kansas City Missouri School District.

Annie gave birth to the Latrice Parker in 1966 and united in holy matrimony to Otis Mack. From this union LaQuita Mack became her second daughter.

Accepting Christ at an early age, Annie was united with the Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. E.H. Branch followed by Dr. Wallace S. Hartsfield, Sr. where she served as a member of the choir. Annie was later united in holy matrimony in 2001 to Robert E. Davis. Subsequently she moved her membership to the Pentecostal Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop Daniel E. Jordan until her departure.

Being employed through various industries, the calling of caregiver continued in her heart and during the final chapter of her life as she was employed with many healthcare services. Annie's children, family and others praised her about her gift of giving to others. She loved to be helpful to anyone in need.

Annie leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Robert E. Davis of the home; two daughters, Latrice Oliver (Terry) of Kansas City, MO and LaQuita Mack of Columbia, LA; two brothers, Elder Fred Parker (Helen) of Kansas City, KS; one sister, Vanessa Perkins (Tim) of Grand Valley, MO; grandchildren, LaJuan Dean, D'Sean Thompson, Krystion Oliver and Lamir Mack; great grandchildren, Myana and Zyana; aunt, Mrs. Johnnie M. Burks; special cousins, Ladonna Woodcox, Larry Johnson and Paula Johnson; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services Saturday, July 14, 11:00 a.m. at Pentecostal Church of God in Christ. Private disposition. Visitation 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
