Obituary

Annie Mae Johnson was born September 2, 1943 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Willie and Mimie Jones. She was preceded in death her husband, both parents, one brother Willie Lee Jones Jr., two sons: Donald Ray Sr., and Terrence Johnson, and a grandson Donald Ray Jr. She attended school in Louisiana and graduated from Capitol High School in Baton Rouge. Annie accepted Christ at an early age and very much believed in God. She attended Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri. She married James L. Johnson on New Year's Day, January 1, 1965. They were married 54 years until his passing in 2019. Annie was a very outgoing and wonderful person. She enjoyed playing Bingo and watching television. She departed this life on Saturday, November 13, 2021. She leaves to cherish her memories her daughters: Stacy Johnson-Jack and Shannon Johnson of Kansas City, MO, two sons: James L. Johnson (Patricia) Denton, Texas, and Brian K. Johnson, Kansas City, MO. She also leaves a sister Priscilla Green of Kansas City, MO; brother George Jones (Faye), Kansas City, MO; a sister-n-law Mary Ann Jones, 16 grandchildren, 17 greatgrandchildren, 7 nieces, 1 nephew and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services are pending. Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors Chapel. Visitation 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Interment Twelve Gates Memorial Gardens. Services provided by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors.
