Anthony Cortez Harris was born on September 27, 1971, in Kansas City, Missouri, at Menorah Medical Center, to Elmer Anthony Harris and Beulah Elaine Harris. His life was one marked by family, friendship, good food, laughter, and an appreciation for the simple moments shared with the people he loved.

Anthony was raised in Kansas City, Missouri, where he attended local schools and graduated from Southeast High School in 1990. As he continued his education, Anthony pursued one of his natural interests and earned a certificate in Culinary Arts. Cooking became much more than a skill for Anthony. It was something he enjoyed sharing with others, especially during family gatherings and special occasions. His dishes became another way for him to bring people together and contribute to the moments his family would remember.

Throughout his working years, Anthony was employed in several industries, including warehouse operations and various delivery positions. Wherever life and work took him, Anthony remained connected to the family and friends who were an important part of his life.

Anthony's spiritual foundation began at Swope Parkway Church of Christ, where he was baptized during his younger years. Later in life, he found a spiritual home with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he continued his faith journey.

Cooking became much more than a skill for Anthony. It was something he enjoyed sharing with others, especially during family gatherings and special occasions.

Anthony knew how to enjoy life in his own way. He loved spending time with family and friends, keeping up with the latest political conversations, and settling in for a good action movie or television series. His taste in music crossed many genres, and he enjoyed playing video games, traveling, and, of course, cooking. Whether surrounded by family, sharing a meal, discussing current events, or simply enjoying his favorite entertainment, Anthony appreciated the experiences that allowed him to connect with others.

On August 4, 2026, Anthony departed this life, leaving behind memories that will continue to live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Anthony was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer Harris, Georgia Ruby Braxton, George Franklin Dawson, and Doretha Dawson; his brother, Samuel Jerome Harris; and a host of beloved aunts and uncles.

He leaves to cherish his memory his grandmother, Peggy Harris; his parents, Elmer and Beulah Harris; his sister, Dorethea M. Harris; his brother, Elmer R. Harris (Angela); his nieces, Victoria DePriest (Caymen), Alia Harris, Amiyah Allen, and Cayani DePriest; his nephews, Jurrell Harris, Lincoln Harris, and Nathan Harris; his special brother, Harold Hughes; along with a host of extended family members, friends, and loved ones.
