Anthony Lamar Randle, Sr., 61, entered this life on March 6, 1955 in Kansas City, Kansas. He was the eldest of eight children born to Cunnie and Bernadine Randle. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernadine Randle and his brother, Cunnie Lee Randle, Jr. 'Tony' attended East High School where he played in the band. He went on to graduate from Paseo High School in 1973. After graduation, Tony attended Kansas City, Kansas Community College where he met the love of his life, Denise Banks. He later decided to go to trade school and obtained his certification in welding. Tony worked at Boatman's Bank for several years. He also worked at Permacell and most recently, Tony was a manager at LaMar's Doughnuts until his health failed and he could no longer work. Tony accepted Christ and was baptized at Pleasant Green Baptist Church in 1967, where he remained a member until his homegoing. He used to sing in the choir and before his health problems, he also attended Sunday School. His mother, Bernadine was his Sunday School teacher. He also was one of the barbequers at Pleasant Green's 'Annual Praise in the Park' Worships. Tony and Denise married in 1974 and had three children: Anthony Jr., Andrea and Andre. He loved sports. In high school, he played football and as an adult, he played baseball and basketball on teams throughout both Kansas and Missouri. His favorite position in baseball was shortstop. He was a 'star player' at Klamm Park. Tony looked forward to the Randle (R.I.H.B.Y) Family Reunions. He would play on the Kansas team in the annual softball game against other states (including Missouri) in the quest for bragging rights for winning the 5 foot trophy that was awarded each year to the winning team. He also served as a referee at local basketball games in his spare time. Tony's health began to fail and he was placed on the waiting list to receive a kidney transplant. For more than a year, his health problems continued and he was called home Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital. A special financial gift was given to the DaVita Dialysis Center in his honor from The General Services Administration employees, where his sister is employed. He leaves to cherish his memory: three sons and one daughter, Anthony Lamar Randle, Jr. of KCMO, Andrea Rachelle Randle, Andre Maurice Randle and Jason Devon Hawkins all of KCKS; his father, Cunnie Lee Randle, Sr.; six sisters, Venalda Washington, KCMO, Vonda Cloyd (Michael), Grandview, MO, Donna Randle, KCMO, Rhonda Randle, KCMO, Theresa Taylor, Raytown, MO and Marla Roberts (Stephen), Lawton, OK; seventeen grandchildren, Mauricha, Tysha, Anedrea, Marlowe Jr., Avianna, Alisa, Amarco, David V, Amarion, Denisha, Dekiah, Amara, Taylor, Jayla, Andre, Jaila and Kaleb; six great grandchildren; longtime special friend, Micki Price; a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and his Pleasant Green Church family. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 8, 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church. Interment Highland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
