Anthony Wayne Rogers, Jr., 30, was born July 30, 1987 to the union of Anthony Rogers, Sr. and Mona (Johnson) Rogers in Kansas City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ezekiel & Maestella Johnson and John & Mary Cade, as well as one niece, Shantale Agee.

Anthony moved to Fontana, California as a young child where he received his elementary education. He later returned to Kansas City, Missouri and attended the Platte County public schools, graduating from Parkhill High School. He furthered his education at Maple Woods Community College.

Anthony accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Wallace S. Hartsfield, Sr. He was employed with various companies throughout his life including Arm & Hammer, and more recently the Waffle House.

Anthony enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved traveling, eating and cooking. He was a loving son, grandson, brother, and uncle who will greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Anthony departed this life on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at North Kansas City Hospital.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving parents, Anthony W. Rogers, Sr. and Mona Rogers; four brothers, John Agee, Terence Kirkwood, Jamil Rogers (Mashea) and Tony Kirkwood; three sisters, Jolynette Agee, Beverly Agee-Johnson and Chakina Swinton (Tyson); paternal grandfather, Ernest Rogers, Sr.; paternal grandmother, Irma Henderson, and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins other relatives and friends.

Funeral services Saturday, April 7, 11:00 a.m. at Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church. Private disposition. Visitation 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
