Obituary

Apostle Adrian Marie Cheffen-Minnenhall, 66, KCMO, passed away on February 10, 2017. She was born August 7, 1950 at General Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri to the union of Marietta Wynn and the late Lowell Dennis. She was one of five siblings and was preceded in death by her niece, Jasmine Turner. Adrian was educated in the Kansas City School District where she attended Crispus Attucks, Ashley Elementary and graduated from East High School in 1969. Adrian was employed at Scott Cleaners, Jackson County Court House and later retired from Pitney-Bowes in 2011. Adrian loved art but her passion was ministry. She accepted Christ at an early age and loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She attended Mariah Walker, Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and Gethsemane Non-Denominational Church, where she was ordained as the Associate Pastor. Adrian was united in marriage to Charles Cheffen in 1970; he preceded her in death. She later married Clarence Minnenhall, Jr. in 1983. He also preceded her death. Adrian loved her family and fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. She was a devoted mother who warmed the hearts of everyone she encountered. She was so full of life and impacted many people with her beautiful spirit, and would always lend a listening ear, offer words of encouragement or give her last to those in need. She leaves to cherish her memory: her sons, Charles Minnenhall (Lisa) of Kansas City, MO, Mark Minnenhall of St. Joseph, MO and Clarence Minnenhall III of Olathe, KS; daughters, Carmen Washington (Darryl), Chris Brown (Randy) both of Kansas City, MO, Crystal Cheffen of Lee's Summit, MO and Natalie Rathers (Marcus) of Lenexa, KS; parents, Marietta Turner (Vernon) of Kansas City, MO; brothers, Brian Dennis of Liberty, MO, Michael Dennis and Verner Turner (Shelia) both of Kansas City, MO; sister, Jacquelyn Diamond (Ralph) of Kansas City, MO; nephews, Tyler Dennis (Ronisha), Phillip Dennis and Jabari Turner; nieces, Briana Hyter (Kimren), Tamera Diamond and Brittney Dennis; fifteen grandchildren, one great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
