Arnetta Dunn, 66, was born March 15, 1950 in West Hermondale, Missourito the union of the late Marcus and Charity Dunn. Arnetta moved to Kansas City, Missouri with her family as a teenager. She attended Southeast High School and furthered her education in the health care field, receiving a Bachelor's degree in nursing from Graceland University. Arnetta was a dedicated professional who loved caring for others, and was a mentor to her family and friends. Arnetta was always helpful in any way, rather you needed advice or assistance, she was there to give support. Arnetta was a successful business owner and co-founder of Home-Sitter Home Health care agency, which she operated for eleven years. She was also in the process of opening a new health agency with her three sisters. Arnetta was very passionate about work and family and would always spend time visiting and caring for her patients, checking in, and taking food to their homes. She also enjoyed advocating and encouraging the youth to further their education into prominent futures. Arnetta was a very spiritual person and loved reading books by the inspirational speaker, Joel Olsten. She will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. She had no children of her own but helped to raise all her nieces and nephews and continued to be an instrumental part in their lives. Arnetta departed this life on May 31, 2016. She was preceded in death by two brothers, David Edward and Melvin Louis Peterson; three nieces, Laura and Barbara Mayo, and Vernika Peterson. She leaves to cherish her memory: two brothers, Luther (Sonya) Dunn and Marcus (Michelle) Smith; three sisters, Myrtle Dunn, Aretha Dunn and Judy Dunn; four nephews, Marcus Brown, David Dunn, Jeron Ledbetter and William Dunn; four nieces, Tina Peterson, Maxine Peterson, Tayler Dunn and Ashley Dunn; three great nephews, Khalil Peterson, Marcus Brown and Tavis Brown; two great nieces, Kendall Allen and Marshauna Brown; along with an additional host ofother relatives and friends. Memorial services will be Sunday, June 5, 2:30 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
