Obituary

Arthur Lee Hill, 65, passed away December 24, 2018 at KU Medical Center. He was born January 17, 1953 to George and Arthur Mae Hill. He was preceded in death by parents, George and Arthur Mae Hill-Shepard; stepfather, Henry Shepard; two sisters, Clarice Pace and Darlene McCullough.

Affectionately known as "Boneman" or "Art", Arthur attended Central High School while working at Bellefonte Ice Cream (E. 30th Street), Parade Oil (31st & Cleveland), Jimmy Pigs (E. 31st) and Tuxedo on the Landing.

Arthur was a member of Good Samaritan Missionary Baptist Church where he sang in the male choir. He enjoyed singing and dancing, and was in a group called "The Temps", for guys and Sister Mae. Arthur had a playful spirit and never met a stranger. He was always giving advice and direction about life. He loved hanging out with friends and family, sports, playing dominoes, going to the boat and playing Pick Four.

He leaves to cherish his memory: two sons, Billy Wigfall, Sr. and Arthur Lee Hines, Sr.; three brothers, Willie Vaden (Kathy), Robert Vaden and George Hill, Jr.; four sisters, Mae Hill-Duley, Kathryn Brockenebrry, Helen Simmons (Melvin) of Virginia Beach, Gwen Walker and Lee Austin of Belize; uncle, Sonny Boy Hudson of California; grandchildren, Billy Wigfall, Jr., Carris Johnson, Chennedy Johnson and Arthur Lee Hines, Jr.; best friend, Charlie Kucha and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service Saturday, January 5, 11:00 a.m. at Good Samaritan Missionary Baptist Church. Private disposition. Visitation 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
