Barbara Louise (Armstrong) Moore, 87, departed this life on January 17, 2020 at the John Knox Village in Lee's Summit, MO. Barbara was born on July 24,1932 to the union of Jasper and Dorothy Armstrong. She was a lifelong resident of the Kansas City, Missouri area and graduated from Lincoln High School class of 1949.
Barbara was united in marriage to Proctor Moore, Sr. into that union they had seven children.
Barbara was a member of New Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church for 28 years where she truly loved the Lord and was always praising HIM, even during her decline in health. She worked for Trinity Lutheran Hospital before moving on to St. Luke's Hospital and B&G Maintenance where she retired after 20 years of service, she dedicated her life to her family and friends, she was an avid reader, enjoyed cruising and travel.
Barbara was preceded in death by both parents, sister, Jewell Maxine Bryant, husband Proctor Moore, Sr. daughter Barbara (Bobbie) Strickland, son Daryl J Moore Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Proctor Moore, Jr. Kansas City, MO and McKin (Wendy)Moore, Blue Springs, MO and three daughters Sheila Moore, Kansas City, MO, Michelle (Bernard) Bailey, Manassas, VA. and Dorothea (Ritchie) Momon, Lee's Summit, MO. Twelve grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. She will surely be missed by all loved ones.
Our family extends special thanks to Frances Henderson and Mille Murray who was her friend and caregivers during the last years of life.
Funeral services Tuesday, January 28, at 11:00 am at the Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors Chapel. Interment Blue Ridge Lawn Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 9:00 am-11:00 am at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
