Benson Lamont Lewis, 49, was born on September 7, 1970 to Willie Lewis and Rachel Pendleton in Huntsville, Alabama. His father Willie Lewis, step-father Earnest Pendleton, step-sister, Mittie Pendleton and grandmother Martha Vaughn all preceded him in death.

Benson moved to the Kansas City area as a young child and was educated in the public schools of Kansas City, Missouri. He was employed with the City of Kansas City Missouri Water Department for many years and was currently a truck driver with Med- Line, where he was a valued employee.

Benson was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Tammie Jordan. They were together for 29 years and shared five children. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Benson departed this life on Saturday, November 23, 2019.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Tammie Jordan, Kansas City, MO; four sons, Divonte Lewis, Jeremy Lewis, Orlando Lewis and Bryant Lewis, Kansas City, MO; one daughter, Tamera Lewis, Kansas City, MO; mother, Rachel Pendleton, Kansas City, MO; grandmother, Annabell Lewis; brother, Travis Lewis, Kansas City, KS; two sisters, Erica Pendleton and Rhonda Pendleton, Kansas City, MO; six grandchildren, Divonte Lewis, Jr., Journee Lewis, Orieon Lewis, Da'auana Lewis, Ariel Lewis and Sa'vanna Evans; three aunts, Rosa Vaughn, Lisa Vaughn and Glenda Vaughn; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services Saturday, November 30, 2:00 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Brooking Cemetery. Visitation 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
