Bernard Kelley Mitchell was born September 4, 1955, to the union of Oscar and Beatrice Kelley in Kansas City, MO. Both parents preceded him in death.

Bernard received his education in the Kansas City,Mo School District, he also served in the United States Army.

Bernard was united in marriage to Virgie Brown, to this union one daughter, Daisy Mitchell was born whom also preceded him death, that marriage was dissolved. Bernard later married Marquita Wilson, to this union a daughter, Marquita was born.

Bernard was so witty and cleaver, "As the saying would go, Don't ask Bernard if you didn't want to hear the truth". He was a loving father, brother, cousin and a very wise man.

Bernard had a will to live, he fought his illness with out complaining. He always had a smile even when we knew he was in pain.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a son, James Kelley; four daughters, Richonda Owsley, LaTosha Roath-Riley, Marquita Mitchell, Maggie Haynes; one brother, Anthony Kelley; ten grandchildren; three great- grand daughters; a special, loving and devoted friend, Angela Ashford; a host of cousins.
