Obituary

Bernard E.Wilson's,Sr., 67, life began November 29, 1952. He was born to parents Leo H. and Shirley M. Wilson. He was the fourth of nine children created by this union.

He was an eager student willing to learn in the Detroit Public School system where he continued and graduated from Kettering High School entering the workforce shortly thereafter.

He, being naturally skilled and gifted in many areas, shared his expertise in various settings with a number of companies including Giffels, Trimont Construction and The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit, Michigan. Continuing to showcase his talents and love for creating, he also worked with his brother Kevin Wilson at Expressions in Laminat. He later retired at Central States Conference as Assistant Project Manager in Kansas City, KS.

Bernard was captivated when he met the love of his life Andrea Jones in 1976. After a time of establishing friendship and foundation, they were later married in 1977. To this blessed union, Crafted and Assembled by the Hands of God Himself, 4 amazing children were born. Denice, Bernard Jr, David, and Katherine all are individual displays of the love that created them. Family meant everything to Bernard Sr. and that was evidenced in everything they did. Together they enjoyed camping, fishing, road trips, and most importantly family time, especially sharing love and laughter and the joy of the Sabbath.

He was a compassionate and dedicated church leader, serving in various capacities over the years. Those titles including but were never limited to Ordained Deacon, Pathfinder Leader, Master Guide and Audio Engineer. However, he was always willing to serve wherever he could be used. The thing he enjoyed most was singing with his Brothers In Christ: The Men of Burns SDA Choir and A Chosen Few. Throughout his life of service, he became a beloved father figure to countless young people and a mentor to many others, both young and old alike.

He is preceded in death by both his parents and brother Leonard.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife Andrea Wilson, Children Denice, Bernard Jr. (Yvonne), David (Kyla), Katherine (Lloyd). Grand children Destyni, David Jr., and Kamryn. Siblings David (Rosie) Lenoard (Marilyn) Kenneth (Leah), Clyde ( Karen) Gary (Lisa) Dennis (Arlene), Kevin and Pamela and a host of nieces and nephews and family and friends.

Private funeral services Tuesday, April 7, at 11:00 am at the Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors Chapel. Private disposition. Service conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website. Livestream information is forthcoming
