Bert Jerald Emanuel, 60, KCMO, passed away on June 7, 2016. He was born February 6, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois to the union of Wilbert J. and Mary B. Emanuel. Bert attended the Gary, Indiana public school system, graduating from Lew Wallace High School in 1974. He graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelors of Art Degree and later graduated from Merrillville Beauty College. Bert spent many years showcasing his talents in the fashion and beauty industry. Highlights of his career include his work with Fashion Fair Cosmetics, Ebony Magazine, Ebony Man Magazine and the Ebony/Jet Showcase television show. He was a partner and fashion producer for Expertise International Fashion Production Company, and spent several years in the funeral services industry at Kaufman Funeral Home, in Gary, Indiana. Bert leaves behind several family members who loved him greatly: brother, Michael V. Emanuel of Kansas City, MO; niece, Michelle Emanuel-Johnson (Jeff) of Blue Springs, MO; nephew, Michael V. Emanuel II (Sasha) of Indianapolis, IN and nephew, Wilbert J. Emanuel III of Dayton, IN. Memorial services will be Saturday, June 18, 2:30 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors.
