Obituary

Bessie J. Robinson was born on November 2, 1949 to Robert O. Topps, Sr and Eula M. Stowers Topps in St. Louis, Missouri. She was a woman of quiet strength, steady grace, and enduring love. On February 9, 2026, she peacefully entered eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy rooted in faith, family, and friendship. Bessie received Christ at an early age and was raised in the Seventh Day Adventist church with her siblings. She held many leadership roles at the church and loved being head usher for many years. She continued in the faith for the remainder of her life.

Bessie was known for her easygoing and laid back nature. Mild mannered and calm, she carried herself with a quiet confidence that made others feel at ease. She took great pride in her appearance and was very particular about how she presented herself. Bessie loved to shop and had a special appreciation for accessories and well put together outfits. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling and the camaraderie that came with it. She remained deeply family oriented and cherished family dinners, laughter, and time spent together.

Bessie was blessed with many friends and was a proud member of what was affectionately known as the Lunch Bunch. She valued regular lunches filled with conversation and connection and was always willing to help others, offering support, encouragement, and kindness. She enjoyed keeping her mind active by playing puzzles and phone games. Game shows were among her favorite pastimes. A devoted Kansas City Chiefs fan, Bessie enjoyed cheering for her team and gathering with family during game days.

Above all, Bessie's greatest joy was her family. She's preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Robinson, Son, Pili Robinson, brother, Arvin Topps and parents, Robert and Eula Topps. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving sons, Anthony Robinson, Randy Robinson (Erin) and her loving brothers, Robert "Skip" Topps, Jr. (Coyela) and Wendell Topps (Sabrina), and good friend, William "Billy" Young; eleven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Her love and example will continue to live on through each of them.

Bessie Robinson will be remembered for her grace, her style, her loyalty to family and friends, and her quiet but powerful love. Though she is no longer with us in body, her memory will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
