Betty J. Canton was born on October 14, 1940, in Columbia, Missouri second child born to the parents William Anderson and Geraldine Johnson. Betty was educated in Columbia, Missouri. Betty gave her life to Christ in 1969, becoming a member of Pentecostal Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop Daniel M. Jordan, where she served as the Pastor's Aide Leader. She was a faithful member until her health began to fail. Betty's life work was in the healthcare field. Betty met Richard Leon Canton and they were united in marriage and to their union four children were born. Both her parents, her husband, Richard Leon Canton, three children, Richard Canton, Debbie Woods, Marcus Gant; her sister Ernestine Roberts all preceded her death. Betty J. Canton went on to be with her Lord and Savior on February 4, 2022. She leaves to cherish her memory; her son Quinton Canton (Sherry); two sisters, Evelyn King and Bennie Mae Maple; grandchildren, Dion, Josea, Brandi, Quinton, Jr., Joshua, Elisha, Deshawn Richard III, Lance, Shelly, Curtis; great grandchildren Nykolett, Corynn, Lola, Dary'us, Neousha, Terrion, Richard IV; great greatgrandchildren, Antonio, Knari, Sumeir, Nyomie, Denzell, Kornell, Kingston, Serenity, Cor're, Jay'lynn, Airylana, Jasalenna; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors Chapel. Visitation 9:00 a.m. - 10. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens.
