Mother Blanche I. Shaw begin her life journey, July 19, 1934. Her parents Frank and Willa Mae Isreal,
who preceded her in death. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Anna Mae Walker, James Walker,
Calvin Isreal, and Eleanor Hutchinson. One son preceded her in death, John D. Shaw Jr., and her
granddaughter, Kale T. Golston.
Native Kansas Citian, born and reared and educated as such. She attended Wendell Phillips, RT Coles,
and graduated from Lincoln High School.
Religiously educated, beginning at the early age of six, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, under
the tutelage of her parents (Frank and Willa Mae) the late Pastor S.C. Doyle and the late Dr. I.H.
Henderson Jr. Here her roots were established and she began public singing and speaking at the age of
nine years old. She was a Chartered Member of 52 years of service at Greater Faith Missionary Baptist
Church, under the leadership of the late Reverend Atwood Williams Sr., Rev. E.R. Verner, her present
leadership, Pastor Atwood Williams Jr. Mother Blanche Shaw attended faithfully until her health began to
fail.
She tried to do her best as she served on the Board of Church Mothers, Church Secretary, Sunday School
and Mission Study teacher, Advisor to the Ushers Auxiliary.
Mother Shaw was the past President of the Midwest District Association Women's Missionary and
Education Union. She served as Financial Secretary for the Assoc., and Corresponding Secretary for the
District Congress of Christian Education.
Mother Shaw had various course studies at Longview Community College, Western Baptist Bible College
and in both the State and National Congress and Conventions as well as the District.
Blanche Shaw retired as a Manager of Western Electric, AT&T (Now known as Lucent Technologies).
There she was privileged to serve as the Company Facilitator in Partnership with Edge Institute of
Tacoma, Washington. She was blessed to be one of the organizers of the AT&T Sharing Jesus Choir,
where she was the Choir Directress. Again, she was blessed to have traveled to various parts of Missouri
and other states, singing and speaking for the glory of God!
She is survived by her children, Deborah W. Livingston, Samuel J. Pope, Dan A. (Lori) Shaw, Godson
Pastor Atwood (Shantell) Williams Jr. Four Grandchildren, Kimberly McDaniel, Kellye (Gregory)
Golston-Smith, Kindra (Norris) Tanner, Shaun (Malika) Hill. Eight Great-Grand Children, Keeisha Pope,
Earnest W. Threets Jr., Neeisha Franklin, Keylynn Rogers, Deborah White, JayKal Hall, Laila Stone-Hill,
Bella Stone-Hill. Seventeen Great-Great Grand Children, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins.
The work I have done seems so small, sometimes it seems like I have done nothing at all. But when I see
Jesus, I will know the True Joy of being anchored in Jesus and working with young minds, we dare not
waste.
