Bobby Earl Day, 69, was born August 20, 1948 in Menifee Arkansas to the late Alex Sr. and Ethel Mae (Oliver) Day. He was the ninth of ten children born to this union.

In 1966, Bobby graduated from Menifee High School and years later in 1969, he moved to Kansas City, Missouri along with his family Bettye Joyce (Wolfe) Day and Kevin Day.

Bobby accepted Christ as his Savior and was a member of the Church of the Living God. He was employed by M. Lyon & Company in North Kansas City for many years until retiring.

Bobby loved to socialize, especially with family and friends in Arkansas. In his leisure, he enjoyed participating in family activities and watching sports. Bobby loved his family and shared a special bond with his best friend and son, Kevin, as it was evident each time they were seen together.

Bobby received his wings on December 8, 2017 at the Life Care Center of Grandview, with family and Crossroad Hospice Care at his side. He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Day, Sr. and siblings, Lula Mae Day, Geraldine Day, Ora Lee Mitchell, Eunice Mae Hood, Clarence Day and Sammy Day.

He is survived by his daughter, Cassandra "Sandy" Gunnels (Mark) of KCMO; siblings, Alex Day, Jr. of Phoenix, AZ, Nathaniel Day (Irene) of KCMO and Joyce L. Watkins of Russellville, AR; grandchildren, Mark A. Gunnels, Kevin Day, Jr., Kadeem Day and Marshawn Gunnels; great grandson, Mello J. Day; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
