Booker T.
Byers, Jr.
Aug 3, 1965 — Mar 15, 2018
Booker T. Byers, Jr., 52, KCMO, departed this earth on March 15, 2018 at the home. "June" was born August 3, 1965 in Kansas City, Missouri, the third of eight children born to the union of Booker T. Byers, Sr. and Verbina Banks. June was a fun loving child who always had a smile on his face. As he grew older, he could always be caught laughing and joking with his friends and family. He would crack jokes on them, often laughing harder at his own jokes than anyone else. In his early years he attended Paseo High School and in November of 2014 he married the love of his life. It was during that union that June gave his life to Christ and soon became a member of Concord Fortress of Hope. June loved nothing more than getting together with his brothers, cousins and friends for a good domino or card game. He would often host game day or fight parties at his home. He also loved good music and was a good dancer. June was preceded in death by his parents Booker T. Byers, Sr. and Verbina Banks, and two brothers Adolph Herron and Ronzell D. Johnson. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Larice Smith; sixteen children, Dontay Irvin, Dwayne Irvin (Misty), Dwight Irvin, Angela Byers (Marco), James Byers (Tasha), Tabitha Byers (Matthew), Antoinette Byers, Andrea Byers, Quinton Byers, Booker T. Byers III (Angel), Lauren Booth (Terry), Tonisha Boston, Delisha Smith, Melena Smith and Emily Perkins; three brothers, Ronald Johnson, Vince E. Johnson and Anthony E. Johnson; five sisters, Terry L. Anderson, Patricia A. Johnson, LaVonnie Johnson, Veronica L. Johnson and Yvette R. Johnson; a host of grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services Saturday, March 24, 12:00 p.m. at New Vision Christian Church. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
