Booker Theodore Rushing Jr. was born on May 26, 1956, to Booker T. Rushing and Mollie Mae Jones in Kansas City, Missouri. A lifelong resident of Kansas City, Booker's life was one of dedication, love, and cherished memories.

Booker was preceded in death by both parents; his beloved wife, Thelma "Nita" Rushing; his sisters, Shirley Mae Freeman and Rosie Bradford; his brother, Howard Rushing; and his grandson, Glenn Barfield Jr. Their memories lived on in his heart, and now he joins them in eternal rest.

Booker was a man of many passions and talents. He had a deep love for Westerns, which reflected his appreciation for stories of resilience and adventure. Cooking was one of his greatest joys, and he delighted in preparing meals that brought family and friends together. Booker's love of sports was evident in his devotion to the Kansas City Chiefs, and he spent countless hours bowling and playing pool, often sharing laughter and friendly competition with those around him. Above all, he was a family man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones.
