Carolyn Marie Jackson, 75, KCMO, passed away on July 29, 2016 at her home. She was born January 4, 1941 in San Antonio, Texas to Cornelius Armstrong and Mamye Marie Wright Armstrong. She was preceded in death by both parents; brothers, Bobby (JoNell) Armstrong and Edwin H. Green; and sister, Velma Lampkin. Carolyn was an active member of Sanctuary of Faith Church. She worked as a child care worker for many years. Carolyn married Mitchell Jackson in the summer of 1997. He preceded her in death. She lived a rich rewarding life. She was always a friendly, outgoing lady who hardly ever met a stranger. Her family and friends loved her so much. Our hearts are filled with sorrow, but we realize that Sister Carolyn Marie Jackson's going home was the greatest experience of her life. She had a very jovial, well natured life; never low key, but loved her Savior and was ready when he came to take her away. She leaves to cherish her memory: her sister, Hester Johnson of Los Angeles, CA; niece, Peggy Green of Kansas City, MO (who would do anything for her Aunt Carolyn); great niece, Deja Wright of Kansas City; and host of other nephews and nieces in California and Texas, and friends who loved her dearly. . Funeral services will be Friday, August 5, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Leavenworth National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel.
