Obituary

Carrie Mae Ivy Davis, 63, was born October 29, 1956 to Lovie Taylor and Albert Brown in Clarksdale, Mississippi. Her father, three brothers Lendery, Charles and Cleveland, and her paternal and maternal grandparents preceded her death.

Carrie was educated in the public schools of Kansas City, Missouri. She became a CNA at an early age until her untimely departure. She was currently employed by Dumas Nursing Home and also in the home healthcare field.

Carrie accepted Christ at an early age at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Willie S. Magee. She was an active member and served in the choir. She visited many churches, but her home was Haven of Rest Baptist Church, Pastor Monscenior Cunningham. No matter what struggles arose, Carrie would always find her way to the church house whether she had to walk or call a ride. She had a loving spirit and loved helping others. She always prayed for unity in the family.

"Camay" finished her testimony upon this earth on December 6, 2019. She finally got her wings and flew away to a greater plain where she's free and no more pain.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of many years, Joe Nathan Davis; two sons, Nathaniel Ivy and Jerry Ivy (Josie); her loving mother, Lovie Taylor Council; two brothers, Lee Council (Valorie) and Johnny Council; two sisters, Janice Jefferson and Joyce Robinson (George); two grandsons, Jerry "J.J." Ivy, Jr. and Jamal Brown; two uncles, Elmo Taylor of Springfield, IL and Eddie Taylor of Chicago, IL; five aunts, Cleora Taylor of Chicago, IL, Ruthie Lee Coleman of Harvey, IL, Mildred Motley (Wayne) of Dixmoor, IL, Sheila Yarbrough (Cleveland) of Tuskegee, AL and Lucy Jefferson of N. Dallas, TX; four sisters-in-law, Gloria Curls, Jolene Davis (David), Zena Edwards and Tisa Davis; close friend, Kenneth Barby and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
