Obituary

Carson Smith, 86, passed away on September 30, 2019 at St. Luke's Hospital. Carson was born November 9, 1932 in Kansas City, MO to Carson and Grace Smith. He and his twin brother, Carlin, were the second and third sons in a family of five children. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joyce Robinson and two brothers, James and Ronald Smith.

While growing up, Carson and his brothers spent the Summers fishing in Mexico, MO while visiting their grandmother, Mama Smith. He graduated from RT Coles High School. He then had a daughter from a subsequent relationship. In 1989 he married Charlesetta Frazier and they remained married until Carson's passing.

Carson was a lover of sports, especially baseball. After high school he and his brothers, Carlin and Ronald (Petey) played on a local baseball team called the Bulldogs for about 6 years. They traveled to small towns on the weekends. Because of his love of the sport, he also played on several teams after serving in the Army, and later coached a local little league team also called the Bulldogs, which included his son, Carson, and nephew, Darwin Smith.

Carson was a postal retiree. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, watching Westerns and sports on television. He especially loved watching the Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs.
