Cary Leon Smith, 47, KCMO, passed away on August 4, 2016. He was born December 20, 1968 in Kansas City, Missouri to Thomas Leon Smith and Barbara Ellen (Williams) Smith. His father preceded him in death. As a lifelong area resident Cary was educated in the public schools of Kansas City, Missouri, attending Southeast High School. For many years he was disc jockey along with D.J. Fresh and many other local disc jockeys. He is survived by his mother, Barbara L. Smith; brother, Michael W. Smith; sisters, Deedra Mitchell (Peter) and Erika Smith; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be Saturday, August 20, 10:00 a.m. at New Beginnings Christian Fellowship Church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors.
