Obituary

Cassie B. Jones, 60, was born October 31, 1956 in Canton, Mississippi to the union of the late Rosetta Kittie Hankins and Ernest Jones, Sr. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Dominique D. Jones Cassie was a child of God and had embraced the Christian faith at an early age. She was baptized and attended the family's church, South Liberty Missionary Baptist Church in Canton, Mississippi. Cassie also received her education in Canton, where she attended Canton High School, before moving to Kansas City to be with other family members. Cassie a 'Domestic Engineer' and was known as a human cleaning machine. She enjoyed cooking, two-stepping and spending me with her family. Cassie went above and beyond to make sure her four daughters had everything they needed while growing up. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, friend and neighbor to all who knew and loved her. Cassie departed this life on August 9, 2017 at Truman Medical Center. Her beautiful smile and gentle ways will be deeply missed. She leaves to cherish her unforgeable memory: four loving daughters, Kana M. Jones, Patricia L. Payne, Raven W. Jones and Johnika P. Jones; six grandsons, Dominique Jones, Carleeon Locke, Rashaan Wilson, Fred Williams, Marc McFall and I'vion Rozell; eight granddaughters, Ashley Jones, Fabiana Tinner, Tynisha Jones, Precious Williams, Marcquise McFall, Daneicka Nash, Deriona Blount and Za'kyra Jones; four great grandchildren, Davionna Jones, Za'Mya Jones, Skye Scott and Terry Moore; step-mother, Delores Jones; son-in-law, Mark Rozell; twenty-two siblings and a host of nephews, nieces, others relatives and friends. Funeral services Tuesday, August 22, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Brooking Cemetery. Visitation 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
