Cecil D. Whitley III, 57, KCMO, passed away on May 29, 2016. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri on October 18, 1937, the second oldest on nine born to Cecil D. Whitley, Jr. and Lorene Whitley. His father; brother, Jerome Whitley and sisters, Teresa Whitley-Green and Tracey Whitley preceded him in death. Cecil graduated from Southeast High School in 1976. He worked in the construction field for fifteen years. He was a loving, carefree spirited and selfless man who will be deeply missed. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Latoya D. Whitley; Cecil D. Whitley IV, Navaeh Whitley, Tracie Whitley, Andre Whitley, Saed Curns, Akeem Curns, Aeesha Whitley and Cecilai Whitley; two grandsons, Jamie Curns and Ay'lam Curns; siblings, Yolanda Washington, Dwayne Whitley, Gina Landry, Andre Whitely and Pamela Inman; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 8, 11:00 a.m. at Highland Baptist Church, Interment Blue Ridge Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church.
