Charles Anthony Jones, Jr., 33, was born February 2, 1983 in Kansas City, Missouri to Charles Anthony Jones and Odessa Renee Brown. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Marla Jean Colston and great grandmother, Emogene Lightner. As a lifelong area resident, Charles was educated in the public schools of Kansas City, Missouri and later received his GED from Excelsior Spring Job Corp. Charles attended Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. B.W. Rucker. Affectionately known as, 'Chasz Cheef', Charles was passionate and gifted with the ability to translate life experiences and raw emotions into the beautiful expressions of spoken word music. His rap lyrics told the story of his life's joys, pains, setback and victories. His music touched the lives of many, and captured hearts and minds of countless others. Charles departed this life on Sunday, September 11, 2016. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves joy, smiles and memories with: his son, DaMonte Jones; mother, Odessa R. Brown; 'Pops'. Derrick Carr; grandmother, Winso Williams (Howard McDaniels); brothers, David Young II and Eugene Brown; sisters, Memory Brown, Beautiful Brown and Kelly Carr; uncles, Walter Ross (Clare), Dwayne Bush and Eugene Young; aunts, Louella Gardenhigher (Frank) and Jacqueline Taylor; nephews, Eugene Brown, Jay'Vierr J. Ashley and David Young II; niece, La'Myah A. Taylor; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be Friday, September 23, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E.
