Obituary

On June 5th, 2022, Chequita "Kita" Donna Lynn Jasper received her wings and went to walk with the angels. Chequita was born June 18th, 1962, in Kansas City, MO to the late Sherline and Ellen Jasper. She was raised with her brother David Jasper and cousin Martha Jean Hoover. She was a mother of 2 daughters Anjelica Jasper and Angela Williams and a loving aunt to Ashley Jasper. As a lifelong Kansas City native, Chequita was well-loved and known in her town. She graduated from Van Horn High School in 1980 then went on to work at the downtown Kansas City United States Postal Office. Though having experience in working several careers, she would say her most rewarding job was being a mother. Her two daughters were her entire world. Family meant a lot to her and was blessed with having 5 grandchildren, a great nephew, and a great niece with whom she was very close to. Chequita and her mother Ellen had a special and unbreakable bond. The unconditional love they had for each other was inspirational. Chequita was a caring mother, grandmother, daughter and friend who had a big heart and was always willing to help a child in need. Chequita had a huge passion for history, cinema and reading. You could often find her watching classic movies and TV shows or reading a Danielle Steele novel. Her favorite movie was Goodfellas. She was intrigued by Italian culture and had a lifelong wish to visit Italy. She was able to reconnect with her faith later in her life. Chequita became a faithful member to Wright Memorial Church of God in Christ alongside her mother, family and friends. She was able to strengthen her relationship with the Lord and become a saved and devoted servant of Christ. Chequita was proceeded in death by her father Sherline Jasper and mother Ellen Jasper. She is survived by her 2 daughters Anjelica Jasper and Angela Williams, her niece Ashley Jasper, 5 grandchildren: Terrion, Alaina, Katelyn, Neriyah and Eleanor, great nephew Jalun, great niece Chasity, brother David, cousin Martha Jean and many more family and friends. You live on in our hearts!
