Obituary

Cheryl Lynn McDonald (Byrd) was born December 4, 1966 in Kansas City, Missouri to Nathaniel and Pauline McDonald. She was preceded in death by her mother, brother, Nathaniel McDonald and nephew, Nathan James.

Cheryl Lynn was educated in the Kansas City public schools and graduated from Paseo High School in the class of 1985. She furthered her education at Manual Career & Technical Training Center in the cosmetology school.

Cheryl Lynn was full of life, she was the physical definition of "Live, Laugh, Love" because she Lived every moment, she Laughed often, and she Loved beyond words. In her younger days she loved to party, you couldn't catch her sitting down, she was the life of the party and everybody knew it, as she got older and settled down she brought the party to her, it was always a good time when she was the host!

Cheryl Lynn worked at Kings Wood Manor where she enjoyed interacting with her co-workers and the residents until her health began to decline.

In addition to all these things, Cheryl Lynn was many other things. Cheryl was a loving wife and partner to Steve for over 25 years. She was an amazing mother, daughter, sister, cousin, and friend. Cheryl loved her family with everything in her and enjoyed interacting with all of them, talking to her sisters and her nieces on the phone, or having gatherings with family and friends just because. She loved fashion, jewelry, and redecorating her home. Cheryl Lynn McDonald (Byrd) departed this life on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at the age of fifty-three at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri.

Cheryl Lynn leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Steven Byrd; her father, Nathaniel McDonald Sr.; her children, Montray Dell Ross, Regina Elaine McDonald, Erica Byrd, and Steven Byrd, Jr.; her siblings, Robert Carter, Beatrice McDonald, Marian McDonald, and Robin Milligan (Robin), three nephews, four nieces, six great nephews, seven great-nieces and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, in-laws and loved ones and friends.

Funeral services Saturday, November 21, at 2:00 pm at the Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors Chapel. Private Disposition. Visitation 1:00 pm-2 :00 pm at thr e chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.

Due to the COVID-19 all guests are required to wear face masks and social distance.
