Obituary

Clara Mae Barnes, 72 passed away at Kindred Hospital on December 07, 2020. She was born November 01, 1948 to Sylvester Ansley and Ronnie Hill in Little Rock, Arkansas. Her parents preceded he in death.

The Ansley family move to Kansas City, Mo in 1965. Clara then married and became Clara Mae Barnes. She worked for the Alameda Plaza Hotel for 20 plus years in the kitchen making wonderful food and memories. She then became a certified nurse assistant. She later became a private duty nurse where she remained until reaching early retirement.

Clara accepted Christ as her personal savior. She was a member of Greater Works International Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Travis Schockley where she served in the Armor Bear Ministry and becoming a mother of the church. You would always find her helping someone or just helping-out where she could.

Clara enjoyed cooking, shopping, reading, bowling, western movies, and her famous Blue Bloods. She loved her Wendy Williams time with granddaughter JaRhya and playing tap tap with her lil chocolate Liana.

Clara was a loving mother, sister, grandma & friend who will be deeply missed.

She leaves to cherish her memory two children: son-Jamison Barnes and daughter-Morgan Washington. Three brothers: Eric Ansley, Gregory Ansley, and Sylvester Ansley Jr. Sis sisters: Bertha Celestine, Rachel Byers Yolanda Ansley-Fields, Denise Ansley, Renita Ansley, and Kizzy Ansley-Jarrett. A host of step-brothers and sisters, cousins, nephews, and nieces. Two granddaughters, JaRhya Barnes and Liana Witherspoon.

Funeral service Saturday, December 19, 2020, at 11am, at Greater Works Church. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation 9am - 11am. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences maybe shared on our website.
