Obituary

Clarence Eugene Masterson III, 61, KCMO, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2016. Clarence 'Aziz' was born in Kansas City, Kansas at KU Medical Center on Wednesday July 7, 1954 to Elaine and Ralph Masterson, Sr. He was preceded in death by both parents and his baby brother, Ivan Masterson 'The First'. Clarence attended Henry F. Kumpf Elementary School and Paseo High School. He also graduated from Metropolitan Business and Technology School. Clarence 'Aziz' was a hard working concrete mason, mechanic and entrepreneur, who owned several businesses throughout his life. He loved learning and education, and would spend hours daily on the internet and at the library researching many topics of interests. He loved his family, especially children, giving his heart to his great nephew Carlos Masterson, Jr. Clarence 'Aziz' was loved by his family, friends and neighbors, and was known to bring the block together with a Friday night blues party. He was a proud member of the Moorish Community. Clarence 'Aziz' is survived by four children, Malkia Fielder-Hayes (Isaac) of Kansas City, MO, Zuri McGee of Texas, Clarence 'CJ' Masterson (Micha) of Baltimore, MD and Spenser Gregory of Missouri; his siblings Raplh Masterson, Jr, Leon Masterson, Cordelia Masterson and Norma Masterson all of Kansas City, MO; a special great nephew, Carlos Masterson, Jr.; a host of nephews, nieces, other family and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 23, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
