Clifton Hines Jr., the son of the late Clifton Hines Sr. and Naomi Washington was born February 1, 1956 in Kansas City, Missouri. He attended Kansas City public schools and was a 1974 graduate of Paseo High School. Upon graduation, he entered the United States Air Force and served from February 6, 1975 to January 19, 1987. He was a disabled veteran and was honorably discharged. He was united in holy matrimony to Maggie Rambo Hines on September 6, 1996. This union was blessed with three children. At an early age he professed his faith in Jesus Christ. In 1996, he united with Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Emeritus Julius Rambo Sr. and was currently under the leadership of Pastor Rickey Rambo. He was a dedicated Deacon and also sang in the Sunlight Male Chorus. Clifton was an active participant with the Paseo Alumni Class of 1974 and he remained in contact with many of his classmates. As a result of his generous spirit and "cool" personality, he was loved by many. He quietly departed this life on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nina Rambo Jones, a sister, Cookie Braxton and a nephew, Donald Webster III. His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his wife, Maggie Hines; daughter, Rishawn Gissentoner and son, Rashee Guilt both of Kansas City, MO; father and mother-in-law, Julius Sr. and Mary Rambo; siblings, Wayne (Cynthia) Hines of Irving, TX, Kattie Washington and Chaunetta (Donald) Webster, Kathy (Shannon) Beard, Mary (Michael) Hill, Julius Rambo, Jr., Howard (Alicia) Rambo, Tina (Isaiah) Faulkner, and Rickey (Keshawn) Rambo all of Kansas City, MO, Shirley Kendricks of Kansas City, KS and Geneva Rambo of Nashville, TN; four grandchildren, Terren, Terrence Jr., Nevin Jones and JaLiyah Guilt; a host of uncles, aunts, devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services Saturday, March 2, 11:00 a.m. at Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church. Private disposition. Visitation 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
