Cynthia LaVerne Jones, 52, passed away December 7, 2016 to rest in the peace of the Lord. She was born June 10, 1964 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the sixth of nine children born to Charles Brooks Sr. and Shirley Brooks. Her parents and siblings, Sharolyn Charles and Kelvin Brooks preceded her in death. Cynthia graduated from Van Horn High School in 1982 and continued her education at Pratt Vocational College. Shortly thereafter, she began her career in housekeeping at the Adams Mark Hotel in 1984 where she worked for twenty years. She loved her job so much and took pride in her work. She spent the last six years of her career at Cottage Care before retiring in September 2016. Cynthia was actively involved in the lives of her grandchildren. They spent countless hours having sleep overs at Grandma's house. In addition to spending time with her family, she loved watching soap operas and football, and listening to music. She was a dedicated wife, mother, sisters, aunt and friend. Cynthia leaves to endure her legacy: her husband of twenty years, Wade Jones, Sr.; one daughter, Tierra Henderson (Randall Jr.); six sons, Clifford McIntosh, Jr. (Dawnisha), Tyrone McIntosh, Jamala, Wade Jones, Jr. (Tiara), Devin Jones (Jessica), Derrick Jones (Tanya), Brandon Jones; four brothers, Charles Brooks, Jr., Darrel Brooks, Larry Brooks and Victor Brooks (LaRoshia); two sisters, Patricia Hines (James) and Tamiko Taylor (Damon); twelve grandchildren, Jordan, Reagan, Jade, Joseph, Reanna, Tyana, Taylor, Randall III, Jayla, Cali, Serenity and Kyndall; her dog, Blondie Jones; two brothers-in-law, Michael Jones (LaShone) and Quincy Jones; three honorary sisters, Carolyn, Michelle (Marcus) and Carla; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 17, 11:00 a.m. Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Brooking Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel.
