Dallas E.
Mays
Apr 27, 1970 — Aug 15, 2017
He's a father, a grandpa, a son, a brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend, mentor, our protector. Dallas Eugene Mays, 47, was born April 27, 1970 in Kansas City, Missouri to Arleatha E. Mays of St. Joseph, Missouri and William Roby of Kansas City, Missouri. Dallas grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. He attended Westport High School and furthered his education at Penn Valley Community College, where he studied Engineering. At the age of 29, Dallas married Ms. Velva Pierro on March 4, 2000. Dallas enjoyed reading, drawing, music, cars, and money. He could express himself vigorously through his writing, even though you needed magnifying glasses to read his small print. Everyone who knew Dallas loved his incredible sense of style, his desire to help anyone, his go-getter attitude, his never ending love for family and friends, and the smile that lit up any room he was in. Dallas was an entrepreneurial minded individual who believed in nothing but flexibility and loyalty. He was goal driven to overcome any obstacle thrown at him. Dallas, a real hard-rock, wouldn't back down from anyone. He found peace and leisure inside the latest Dodge or Chevy, but it wasn't complete until he played his favorite Rap songs blasting through the speakers as he rode through the city streets. Dallas departed this earthly existence for his eternal life on Tuesday, August 15, 2017. Preceding him in death were his son, Eevanis D. Verge-Mays and aunt, Cherry L. Shirley. Ascending his passing, Dallas Eugene Mays, leaves to cherish his loving spirit: his mother, Arleatha Mays of St. Joseph, MO; father, William Roby; grandmother, Ozella Elizabeth King of St. Joseph, MO; five sons, Dallas Mays II, Dallas Mays III, Damir Mays, Azim Mays, TyAs'ad Mays of Kansas City, MO; seven beautiful daughters, Ronnishia Jackson, Haniesha Mays, NeKennya Mays, India Mays, Derricka Walker, Dah'Keviah Mays, DheVaune' Mays of Kansas City, MO; two sisters, Khaliah Mays and Malowa Mays of Kansas City, MO; two nephews, nineteen grandchildren, and a host of family and friends that would complete this list of those left to embellish his memory. Memorial services Saturday, August 26, 5:00 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
