Dane Bruce
Davis
Dec 23, 1958 — Sep 4, 2024
Dane Bruce Davis was born on December 23, 1958, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Billie Ruth Brooks-Davis and George Riley Davis. He passed away from natural causes in St. Cloud, Minnesota, on September 4, 2024. Preceding him in death were his mother (1973), sister Shaun Lizette Davis (1982), half-brother Michael Mitchell (2002), and stepsister Denise Freeman (2008). As the second oldest of his mother's four children, Dane was always an independent spirit. Around the age of 10, he began to show an interest in fixing and repairing old electronic TVs, radios, and wiring speakers together. He refined this skill while attending Southeast High School, graduating early with the class of 1977. In 1979, Dane enlisted in the US Air Force as an electronics technician. He underwent basic training at Lackland AFB, TX, then moved to Keesler AFB in Biloxi, MS (1979-81), and later to Nellis AFB, NV (1981-83) as an ECM specialist, working on the navigational electronic systems of F-15 fighter jets. He also completed the Non-Commissioned Officer orientation course in April 1982. After his military service, Dane returned to Kansas City (1983-1997) and took various jobs, including a stint at Tallgrass Technologies (1984-1986) as a computer assembler, jokingly claiming to have helped start the internet. He then worked for the City of Kansas City, MO (1987–1991) as a traffic lights service technician, ensuring smooth traffic on Paseo Blvd from 63rd St. to 18th St. Dane held various jobs from 1992-1997, moved back to Las Vegas, NV, and then returned to Kansas City in 2000. In 2003, he relocated to St. Cloud, MN, where he resided until his passing. Dane never married or had children. He is survived by his father George R. Davis, stepmother Opral, and his brothers: George B. Davis Sr, Mark E. Davis, half-brothers Eric Thomason, Lew Alcindor Coleman, and half-sisters: Patricia Whitebear, Sheena Drew-Fields & Crystal Coleman- McCrary, stepbrothers Phillip Freeman, Vance Boykin, and stepsister Belinda Mason. He also leaves behind his nieces Melanie Brown, Mindy Davis, Merlene Davis, Elneatria Davis and nephews Mark Davis George Davis Jr and Micheal Mitchell plus a slew of uncles, aunts, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a whole host of family & friends. Dane was well loved and will be missed. He is now resting at home with our Lord and savior Jesus the Christ.
