Dannette L. Pickett-Estelle, 47, was born May 2, 1973 in Kansas City, Missouri to the union of Anthony Jamerson and Venita Pickett. She was preceded in death by her father, Anthony Jamerson, paternal grandparents, maternal grandfather and her beloved daughter, Cornae' Duley.
Dannette attended school in the Kansas City Missouri School Public Schools. After high school, she attended and later graduated from House of Heavilin with her cosmetology license. Dannette became interested in doing hair at the tender age of 17 years old. Since that time she has bloomed into one of the best beauticians in Kansas City. She gathered all the knowledge she could through continued education from new hair courses and seminars.
Dannette was a very outgoing and outspoken person and made friends everywhere she went. She lived life to the fullest and was full of laughter and always had a joke to tell. She loved to dance so much that she was once apart of a line dance group.
Dannette was definitely the life of the party. She was a light even through the darkest times. And she always gave God the Glory.
Dannette began her journey with Christ at an early age. She went to church every Sunday with her grandmother and her brother, she eventually joined St. Stephen Baptist Church. As she grew in Christ, she sang in the choir both solos and duets, she was a songbird by nature and she had a voice of an angel. She was involved in several ministries during that time. She later united with the Friendship Baptist Church where she was a member until her passing.
Dannette loved traveling and always enjoyed being near the water, whether it was the lake or the ocean. But especifically near the ocean where she found peace and tranquility.
Dannette departed life on Monday, September 14, 2020 in Los Cabos, Mexico.
Danette leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Venita Pickett-Acklin (Gaylon); grandmother ,Annie M. Pickett; her brother, Carl Pickett (Sharee); a dear treasured God-daughter,Denise Conrad; special friends; Sonya Coppage, Camille Johnson, Alisha Anderson, DaLeah Morris, Nicole Freeman and a host of friends and relatives. Along with her fur babies: Bella(dog) and Charlie (cat).
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 5, at 12:00 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation 10:00am-12:00pm at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website. Due to Covid-19 pandemic face mask are required.
