Obituary

Ms. Darlene Florine Fisher Dearborn was born on July 30, 1933 in Kansas City, Kansas to Ewing Fisher, Sr. and Dorothy Ella Merritt. She closed her eyes and went to sleep on August 13, 2018. Her parents, two sons, Anthony Ray Dearborn Smith and Derrick Dean Dearborn along with one sister, Sherry Allen Hill-Smith preceded her in death. She graduated from Sumner High School in Kansas City, Kansas in May, 1950. She married Anderson Dearborn, Sr. After this union was dissolved, she raised nine children. Darlene joined St. Monica Catholic Church later in life and was on the Usher Board. She worked for various companies such as City Hall, Pitt's Janitorial Service, Thompson-Hayward Chemical Co, Tom's Janitorial and acting custodian-Fireman for Chester A. Franklin School in Kansas City, Mo. She received certificates in Boiler Room Management and Building Management in 1981 and received her Fireman's License. She completed courses in Cosmetology. She worked at Arrowhead as security and a crossing guard for children. She retired from the Kansas City School District in 1993. Darlene loved the Bible of which she held very dear to her heart. She also absolutely loved seafood and attending our family reunions. She was an avid crossword puzzle wizard. Darlene leaves to cherish her life: sons, Anderson, Jr. of Kansas City, LaMonte of Irving, TX. daughters, Bernice of Virginia Beach, VA, Deborah (Larry) of Kansas City, Pamela of Liberty, Mo, Tanya of Raytown, Mo and Kimberly (Brian) of Blue Springs, Mo; a sister, Unetta and brother, Ewing Fisher, Jr, (Barbara) both of Kansas City, Mo. 20 grandkids, 20 great grandkids, 8 great great grandkids, 11 step grandkids and one step great grandkid.

Funeral services Monday, August 20, 10:00 a.m. at St. Monica Catholic Church. Interment Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
