Obituary

Darrell DeJaun Smith 'Big Darrell', 37, was born October 15, 1979 in Kansas City, MissourI to Eugene Acklin and Nelline (Webb) Smith. Darrell confessed his life to Christ at an early age; he attended Pleasant Green Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas under the leadership of Rev. David L Gray. Like so many of us, Darrell strayed from his church upbringing, Darrell found Jesus again and became a faithful member of Millennium Baptist Church under the guidance of Dr. Jimmie C. Webb. Darrell attended the Kansas City School District before moving to Independence, Missouri and attending the Fort Osage School District in 1993. He went on to attend Job Corp in Excelsior Springs, Missouri where he studied Cement/Masonry. In 2014, Darrell started his own lawn care service 'GROW and MO Lawn Care', where he actively worked until he was no longer able. Darrell was so full of life and in his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Darrell departed his earthly body on March 27, 2017 and joined his loving mother, Nelline Smith Stumon; twin boys, Darryl and Jerryl Smith; both grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins. Darrell leaves to cherish his memory: his fiancée, Chelle Penson; four sons, Kameron Eloph of Bossier City, LA, Joshua Smith, Jermey Smith, and DaMorris Bowels; two daughters, Adrianna Leonard and Lyric Bryant all of Kansas City, MO; one brother, Leroy Smith; three sisters, Quincella Webb (Ronnie), Betina Smith and Leewanna Smith; foster brother, Darrell Williamson, (Pops) Quinton Stumon; step sister LaQuinda Stumon all of Kansas City, MO; best friends, Charles Fisher, Mario Blankenship, Ivan Masterson II, Channell 'Mama Nellie' Woods, Baby Imani and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
